Did you know that Clearwater holds the record for most days of
sunshine (361 days) and that is no imagination. Look at the Guinness
Book of World Records. Did you know that Clearwater was nominated
for having two of the top ten beaches in the United States of America?
I believe that these two facts are the reasons why so many tourists
make Clearwater Beach their vacation destination year after year.
As you can tell from my Web Cover Page, Clearwater Beach is an
island connected by two draw bridges (one which has just been replaced), and has everything a person would desire:
Restaurants, gift shops, grocery stores, drug stores, of course
hotels and motels, not to mention the largest charter
fishing fleet on the West coast of Florida.
Fishing off Clearwater Beach's fishing pier.
"Sunsets at Pier 60" is a festival that runs every Thursday through Monday evening two hours prior to sunset to two hours past sunset. Watch Clearwater's famous sunsets while browsing among artists and crafters and be entertained by magicians, jugglers, tightrope walkers and musicians. Artists and performers are welcome. This is a non-profit organization and can be reached at P.O. Box 3266 Clearwater Beach, Florida 34630.
Attractions on Clearwater Beach include boat and sailing charters, cruises, para-sailing, personal watercraft rentals, diving charters, nightly entertainment and a gambling cruise ship that leaves twice daily.
If you do not wish to rent a car from the airport, Clearwater has many transportation services available to deliver you and your family to Clearwater Beach. Once on the beach, you can hop on the Jolley Trolley which services Clearwater Beach, Sand Key and downtown Clearwater. The cost of the Jolley Trolley is a half a dollar or 50 cents. There are also many different hotels and motels which are listed here that cater to everybody's expectations. You might prefer the royal treatment of Clearwater's many resorts or might just want a small family run motel with kitchenettes and other amenities. The options are endless on Clearwater Beach and the Web Pages are here to help you decide where to stay and what activities and attractions to see.

St. Petersburg has also been awarded a professional franchise baseball team the Devil Rays which should being playing baseball in the 1998 season. If golf is your game, there are dozens of golf courses, all within a short driving distance of the beach.
